Will Medical Careers Dry up Soon?

from what i've observed everyone is stating the abundance of medical careers. this can be seen from any news paper,or internet site, the news states it weekly BUT what scares me is the fact that by it being advertised so often, when will this particular field become unavailable and jobs scarce. I only ask this because i am a freshman in college and i am contemplating the medical field BUT find it a little unnerving that its so highly publicized which makes me wonder if there will be careers available by the time i graduate from medical school.
