Best way to find a job in this sodding country?

Been on JSA for just over 6 months now,sent my CV to loads of possible employment opportunities and always phoning companies,it seems that most of the usual employment in my area has been taken by Eastern Europeans and we British are been left to claim JSA.I'm trying and trying to find employment but how am I supposed to compete with cheap foreign labour
