Ladies taking the title of Mrs?

Do you realise that in most of the Western World if you take your husband's name; technically, in accordance with the law you take his whole name. Meaning you cannot be Mrs Joan Wong, you are actually Mrs John Wong known as Mrs Joan Wong. I am always astounded by the number of brides who do not know this and whing when official letters are addressed to Mr and Mrs whoever, or Mrs John Wong.
