Canadian Countryside vs. Switzerland...?

I have lived in Switzerland and visited Canada. They are both absolutely amazing places and you really can't go wrong with either. From your description I think you may prefer Switzerland with its quaint villages, alpine meadows, B and B's etc. Canada is probably better for the nature lover, great to go hiking and see wildlife etc. Austria around Innsbruck is another option similar to the Switzerland idea.
