Where is the "defrost card" on a kenmore refrigerator with pur filtration system ? (106.57026601) (def.fails)

the defrost cycle doesnt occur, the element is a calrod and is fine, the thermostat has already been replaced. but i have no idea where the "defrost card" or "timer" or whatever you call it would be located so that i can search for a used part for it.
